A Murderous Scandal in Tuckerton
a Murder Mystery Dinner by Carly Sharec
Directed by Ross DeMocko

Main Street Theatre is seeking male and female actors ages 20+ to audition for its fully immersive and interactive dinner theatre production.

Our murder mystery dinners require improvisation and flexibility during the performance, so the ability to think quickly and act without scripted lines is a plus!

Seeking 9 actors. Four female 20s-65+, four male 20s-50s, one either.

Auditions to be held:
Thursday, July 11, from 7 to 9pm
Saturday, July 13, from 10am to 1pm

Main Street Theatre Offices
Rehoboth Baptist Church
 2997 Lawrenceville Hwy,
Tucker, GA 30084

Sign up for an audition time here.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Be ready to improvise. A British dialect will be optional but just for fun, please prepare three or four lines from a nursery rhyme or poem with your best British accent.  It does not need to be memorized.

Performances: August 15, 18, 22, and 25
Rehearsals: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7-9 p.m., Sundays 2-5 p.m.

Characters
LADY BOWERTON
: The narrator of the show. She is an older woman - dressed fabulously - who will remain mostly seated for the duration of the program. Written similarly to Lady Whistledown.

MISSY FREEWAYTON: Missy is a beautiful younger woman who can pass for early 20s. She is snooty and gives off the impression that she thinks she’s better than anyone. Think of one of Cinderella’s evil stepsisters as the vibe.
IVY HIGHWAYTON: Ivy is a younger woman who can pass for early 20s. She comes across as sweet and charming. She would be considered the obvious "Bridgerton" knock-off - a Daphne or Francesca, perhaps.
BRAD: Chad’s brother. Both are obvious frat boys. Not necessarily bad/evil, but not necessarily who you want to end up with. They provide a lot of the comic relief. Brad is slightly more with it than Chad, but they're both idiots.
CHAD: Brad’s brother. Both are obvious frat boys. Not necessarily bad/evil, but not necessarily who you want to end up with. They provide a lot of the comic relief. Chad speaks in a lot of annoying Gen Z vernacular and should be in that obnoxious trendy ‘90s clothing. (Think Will Smith in Fresh Prince.)
HUMPERDINK: A man who you just know has bad breath from one look at him. Pompous, older. Thinks he’s God’s gift to women. Has a little bit of money and thinks that’s what makes him eligible.
DUKE WILLIAM: A very obvious catch for any eligible lady. Kind, good-looking, neither shy nor brash. He’s also the only age-appropriate man out of the eligible suitors.
QUEEN LOUISE: A middle-aged woman who carries herself regally. She fancies herself the puppeteer of the whole event. She mostly sits and observes throughout the show.
BOBBY: Queen Louise’s assistant. Of any age. Not particularly many lines. Written as a male, could be a female.
